This is precisely the case for Giacomo Di Domenicantonio, whose rise within Palazzi Agency by Chabé in Italy perfectly illustrates the dynamic progression that drives our teams.
After graduating from a scientific high school, Giacomo started working at a young age. Bricklayer, waiter, warehouse manager, event hall manager… he gained diverse professional experiences, developing a strong taste for teamwork and organization.
Through a recommendation, he discovered Palazzi Agency, where he was hired as a coordinator for events. From his first day, he was captivated: “The office, the employees, the constantly ringing phones… I remember immediately thinking that I would love working here. I still remember my first event: it was a film premiere, and I was thrilled to work alongside movie stars. I loved this job because it was dynamic, elegant, and gave me the feeling of being part of a team contributing to the success of an event.”
As a coordinator, Giacomo fully committed himself to learning. “As we say in Italy, I stole with my eyes” (I learned by observing).
He was soon offered a new position as an event chauffeur, a role he accepted enthusiastically. This experience allowed him to interact with experienced chauffeurs and refine his service management skills.
A turning point came when he was asked to take on a special assignment: serving as the personal chauffeur for Francesco Palazzi, President of Palazzi Agency, for ten days. “During that time, I spent many hours with him, and perhaps he noticed something in me, because at the end of those days, he offered me a role in the Real-Time Operations team.”
Giacomo quickly became a key asset for the operations team. His strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle unforeseen challenges allowed him to build excellent relationships with chauffeurs, clients, and partners.
In 2021, he took another step forward by becoming Head of Dispatch.
“It was a great opportunity for me, and I was excited to take on this challenge. I wanted to be a guide for my team, and it came naturally to me since I have always had this mindset. I constantly strived to motivate them to work in a calm and efficient way, managing stress and problems positively.”
To further develop his skills, Giacomo decided to take a course on emotional intelligence, with the goal of refining his management and communication abilities to better support his team.
Among the many events he has managed, one stands out in his memory: the 10th anniversary of a prestigious hotel in Dubai. A large-scale project requiring precise coordination every single day.
Adapting to different work methods was a real challenge. Each country has its own organizational standards and practices, and one of the major tasks was aligning these approaches with the event’s high expectations. One anecdote highlights this complexity: each evening, the chauffeur list was provided in handwritten form, with many similar names. This unusual situation demanded quick thinking and rigorous organization, turning this logistical challenge into a highly demanding yet enriching experience.
Moreover, most of the vehicles requested and used to meet the client’s environmental commitments were electric models. While this decision aligned perfectly with sustainability goals, it introduced an additional logistical challenge: part of the project involved travel in the desert — an environment unsuitable for electric vehicles. To address this situation and ensure uninterrupted service, part of the fleet was replaced with models adapted to desert conditions, requiring greater coordination and effort among the teams.
These types of challenges, though complex, are precisely what fuel Giacomo’s energy and motivation every day. Beyond logistics, what he enjoys most is the unpredictability, the fast-paced nature of the field, and the teamwork that allows them to overcome every obstacle.
Why is he so passionate about his job? “The adrenaline, without a doubt. Finding an extra car at the last minute, solving an urgent problem, being exhausted but never giving up… these are the best parts of the job. But what I love most is the relationship with my colleagues.”
In November 2024, Giacomo was offered a new challenge: becoming Affiliate Manager. In this strategic role, he is responsible for managing and expanding the network of partners at Palazzi Agency by Chabé. Building strong relationships, ensuring impeccable service quality, and finding new partners aligned with the Group’s high standards are now his daily responsibilities.
Thanks to his real-time operations and field experience, he has developed a 360° understanding of the profession. He works closely with dispatchers to ensure that every partner meets Chabé’s standards of excellence.
Giacomo firmly believes that respect, active listening, and passion are the keys to success in this demanding industry. His approach is based on curiosity, continuous learning, and emotional intelligence.
Today, he sees Chabé as a key international player, combining operational excellence and innovation. He is excited to see the Group continue to grow and hopes to contribute even further to its development.
